Carmelray–Gawad Kalinga 1st Golf Invitational Cup
On August 10, 2007 several CEOs and Key Officers and golfing afficionados from various companies shall flock to the great links of the Sta Elena Golf course to compete in the Carmelray Gawad Kalinga 1st Invitational Golf Cup.
This event is a milestone event being organized jointly by Carmelray group with the Gawad Kalinga -Laguna Chapter.
Expectedly more than 70 golfers will be playing for the prize trophies as they play this System 36 tournament which promises lots of prizes and surprises.
The top prize being given in the raffle is one (1) proprietary share in "The Mills" Country Club, which is now being built at full steam in the heart of Carmeltown, Canlubang.
Other prizes are a brand new Mitsubishi FUZION recently launched by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines for the lucky (and skillfull) golfer who will score an ace (hole in one) during the game!
Appliances (Television sets, DVD players etc.) also await the lucky raffle prize winners.
All proceeds will go directly to the Carmelray Gawad Kalinga Project in Canlubang, Laguna. A 1.9 hectare property where an estimated 150 families will benefit from the ongoing project.
Carmelray-Gawad Kalinga Project
Officers of the Carmelray Group together with the Gawad Kalinga Calamba group recently held ground breaking ceremonies in Canlubang. A 1.9 hectare plot was allocated for over 150 beneficiaries in the area.
Gawad Kalinga is an NGO whose mission is Poverty Alleviation through providing homes for deserving indigents, in given areas. Canlubang was recently the site of the latest project in cooperation of the Carmelray Group.
Noteworthy with this project is the aspect of sustainability which sets it apart from other socialized housing projects. GK provides for Healthcare, Values Formation, Child Education, Livelihood Projects which are consistently monitored by the Area proponents as well as the residents themselves.
The Mills Country Club
Work is underway for this Five (5) hectare recreational project which is expected to be operational by early 2008. Residents and locators are anticipating enjoying the exclusive club’s amenities and feature such as Swimming pools, Restaurants, Tennis courts, Basketball courts, Bowling alleys, Badminton Courts, Jogging Paths, Cabanas and picnic areas among others.
